One month after that

Hey everyone,

So yeah, I went to school a couple days, had a few beers and boom, another month passed. I was just looking at my old blog entries from the beginning of the year and I can't believe how much things have changed for me here since the beginning. All the things that used to seem so different and new have become normal everyday life. I don't really know when this huge change took place but it's definetly happened.

As for what I've been up to the last month, I went to Germany twice, did a big day hike in the southern prt of Belgium, and participated in an awesome talent how. For those of you that have facebook, I'm taged in this sweet video of me and a band doing Sweet Child O Moin and you should definetively check it out.

I've got 50 days left of exchange and than I'm back to good old PEI. I look forward to seeing you all this summer!

Two months Later

Two months Later
Well, it's been two months and here I am back on my blog. I've done a lot since I last updated this thing so I'll give the one sentence summary. I had Ben Wedge who's on exchange come visit, visited Jon Millington in Lille, France, went to Antwerp with Rotary, went to a real European carnival, visited Ben in Aachen, Germany, had my real family come to visit, went to Italy with Rotary, helped out at outbounder orientation for Belgian kids, and that's pretty much it. Not to bad I think.

I can't believe I've been here for over 8 months, and that I have less than three months left. I'll be sad to leave but at the same time I can't wait to get home to see everyone!

Living it up on Exchange

Hello again all,

Sorry for the large gaps of time in between entries, I simply have no time anymore, there's always something new and interesting to do. I was in Paris for a weekend a couple weeks again with a few of my exchanger friends. It's an incredible city, we had a great time visiting all the sights and picking up a bit of the Parisian culture. The day after I got back from Paris I went to see Jimmy Eat World in concert in Brussels. It was an awesome show, it was hard to believe that I was actually seeing them!

The best thing that I've done lately is easily my recent ski trip with my third host family. They took me and another exchanger from the states to this huge ski resort in the Alps. It was so cool, easily the best snowboarding I've ever done. One really cool thing was that the resort was located on the border between France and Switzerland and therefore we skiid in France some days, and in Switzerland on others. It was a week I'll never forget.

Things are going great, my family is coming to visit next month so I'm in the process of putting together an itinerary. I'm also going to be visiting some of the other exchangers from my district back in Canada this month.

Miss you all, but can't believe that I only have 4 months left in Europe, this year's flying by. It's gonna be so great to walk on the beaches of PEI again.

Christmas and the New Year!

Happy New Year everyone,

Hope everyone had a great Christmas. Mine was quite interesting, I went to my host grandmother's on my host dad's side for Christmas Eve, and to my host grandparent's on my host mom's side for Christmas day. The day after boxing day I went to the Voges mountain line in France with my host family. We went hiking for the first two days, and on the last day we went to visit this huge castle on top of one of the mountains.

After returning to Belgium for one day I was off again, to Austria this time. My trip over went very smoothly, I met up with my old austrian friend Pilgrim and his father in the Vienna International Airport. We drove for two and a half hours through the Austrian alps to Pilgrim's castle. Yes, he lives in a real castle. We went to this new year's eve celebration at the base of one of the ski resorts that night.

For the next three days we snowboarded. It was so good! Not just to snowboard, but even just to see copius amounts of snow again. After four days in the mountains, relaxing and sucking in austria, me and Pilgrim took a train to Vienna. We stayed in his flat for two nights, experiencing everything the city had to offer. I came home on the 6th of January and started up school again on the 7th.

Life is good now, school's more interesting, I understand the lectures in class and am doing well on tests. I've got some more trips coming up soon. I'm going to Paris in a few weeks, and snowboarding in the french and swiss alps on the first week of febuary. I miss you all and look forward to seeing you in the summer.
Christmas and the New Year!
