One month has come and gone

One month has come and gone
It's so hard to believe that a month has already past since I hopped on that plane in Charlottetown. Nothing could have prepared me for everything I've been through thus far. This is an amazing country with so much culture.

Last weekend I saw a professional wake boarder, and the weekend before that I saw a Belgian Antarctic station that only uses renewable energy! This Saturday I'm going kayaking! There are so many things going on here that it's impossible for me to just list them off the top of my head!

My birthday is in five days, it's going to be so strange to have a birthday without the family around, but I guess it's all just part of growing up. I've fallen in love with Liege. The more and more I get to know the city the more I love it. However, living away from home has also taught me how much I love PEI and it's inhabitants.

I'm having a great time here. Things just seem to happen. Who knows what the future will hold!

School and Pancakes

School and Pancakes
So today was my second day of school, although I could hardly call the first one a day of school. I came ready for a full day from 8:30AM-4:00PM and ended up leaving at 10:00AM. It turns out that it was only an introductory meeting at the school for the students to meet their teachers and for the administration to give some short speeches.

However, Today I actually did have a full day of school. It was great! everyone was very friendly and helped me find all of my classes. I made a lot of new friends in just one day. I am looking forward to going back to school tomorrow (even if I do have to get up at 6:20 in order to be ready for my bus!)

Oh yes, and did I mention that I made pancakes for my host family to go with the syrup I brought them two nights ago. It was my first time baking them from scratch and they turned out not too bad if I do say so myself.

My Jacket Thusfar

When students go on Rotary Youth Exchange they bring pins from their homeland along with them. They then trade these pins with other students during their stay. We put these pins on our blazers and by the end of the year you have a 10 pound blazer that you have to wear to all your meetings. I've been here for less than 2 weeks and already my blazer is starting to get filled up!
